A temporary site-specific installation for the SMFA at Tufts University Lobby, Mindmap reimagines the seascape beyond the traditionally masculine gaze depicted in the oil paintings at the neighbouring Museum of Fine Arts Boston. It uses craft paper, textiles (yarn, abaka) and fishing lines to reclaim the sea as a place deeply tied to migrants, modern seafarers, and indigenous Southeast Asian/Polynesian women, whose boat-dwelling lifestyles were stripped away by colonialism.
